"South Indian Fare, Flavorful and Diverse" - By Patricia Brooks
"Coromandel packs a wallop in several ways in its airy, attractive decor, welcome service, and generous portions and most importantly, in the originality, diversity and high gastronomic standards of its food. Much to praise, too little to fault."

Zagat Survey - 2005/2006
"Long live India!" Declare devotees of these "superb" sub continentals that serve "innovative" cuisine, providing patrons with the chance to "discover taste buds they never knew they had"; with "service that could not be friendlier or faster" and a "bargain lunch buffet", you "feel like you could be in London, New Delhi, or Midtown".

Zagat Survey - 2003
"Near - perfect", "outrageously delicious" "regional dishes from all corners" of the subcontinent with "fresh ingredients and spices" make devotees of thee Indians declare them "the best in the Tri-state area"; PS the lunch buffet is a "great deal".

Zagat Survey - 2002
Loyalists of this location's lessee were leery when this Indian ingénue opened, "but then they tasted the food" and declared this "delicious" Darien tenant "the real thing", with exquisite, unusual offerings that are "tasty, not too hot" and friendly, efficient service. If you prefer not to dine in shopping-center surroundings, be forewarned that the "small space makes the take out traffic feel like ground control rush hour".

Our fourth excellent restaurant was in Darien, a town that has been a bit of a laggard in the restaurant parade. But no more, not with the arrival of Coromandel (25-11 Old Kings Highway North; 203-662-1213). The first Indian restaurant to merit an Excellent rating for its imaginative South Indian food. Note the reasonable prices and bargain lunch buffet.
